Introduction to Ganei & Derech Yehudit
Fifteen years ago, addressing a pressing need, Derech Yehudit opened its new Education Center for Girls.
The school includes three years of pre-school, and then first through eighth grade.
The purpose: to offer the precious daughters of Tsfat a school filled with light, color, happiness and opportunities. A school that offers them a well rounded and high level education while teaching them Torah, chassidut and yirat Shamayim.
Due to the poor financial situation in Tsfat most of the girl’s schools were housed in crowded old buildings and even in caravans. With help from friends like you Ganei & Derech Yehudit Education Center for Girls came and changed this reality. Derech Yehudit's classrooms are colorful and full of light inspiring the heart and mind.

Derech Yehudit Elementary School and Jr High School (Middle School)
Innovative CurriculumDerech Yehudit provides a realm of educational opportunities. This includes a stimulating classroom curriculum of Judaic studies, Torah, Navi and Parsha, general studies defined by the Israeli Board of Education, art and music classes and hands-on activities.
Classroom interaction and lessons are developed and presented to encourage the "Jewish Habits of Mind." The students are also taken on school trips and educational visits to museums, nature reserves and workshops to bring classroom learning to life. |
Building MeStudents are encouraged to succeed in every area, but are encouraged to choose subjects to excel in. This is developed under the acclaimed "Developing the Future Program" or through either one of the varied after school activities offered, interactive classroom activities or volunteer work.
Students are also chosen on a rotary basis to lead and develop classroom activities, tell stories, or lead the tefillah, morning prayers, in order to build their self esteem and leadership skills. |
Ruth Sherman Library and Resource RoomThanks to a generous grant from the Sherman Family, we are honored to have a first class girls resource room and library.
Guided by a librarian, the girls are encouraged to check out books weekly to read at home. In this age of technological domination the importance of having a large variety of interesting books available for the students to encourage reading outside of the classroom cannot be overstated. Stronger analytical skills, better writing skills and a larger vocabulary as well as improved memory, focus and concentration are just a few of the benefits of reading outside the classroom. |
