DIR and the DIR Floor Time Method - Bringing Progress to Tsfat and her special children
Lilmod U'llmed has four therapists who are trained in the DIR approach and provide sessions with the children and guidance for other teachers and parents.
The DIR approach was developed by Dr. Stanley Greenspan and has proven itself highly effective. The objectives of the DIR Model are to build healthy foundations for social, emotional and intellectual capacities rather than focusing on skills and isolated behaviors. Dr. Greenspan recognized that each child has unique challenges and therefore each child's path to improvement must also be unique. He developed the DIR Floor Time Therapy as a special technique to both follow the child's natural emotional interests (lead) and at the same time challenge the child towards greater and greater mastery of their social, emotional and intellectual capacities. The Floor time therapy includes 8 sessions a day of 20-30 minutes with the parents of educators.
